Dye Sublimation FAQ

Georgia Expo is proud and extremely excited to bring Dye Sublimation to our list of products and services we provide. Dye Sublimation is a great way to increase your brand your company or display your marketing message by placing logos, images, and graphics on fabric and making sure that they look amazing continuously. Below are some basic FAQ’s on what Dye Sublimation is and how it is better than the many other fabric printing methods out there.

What is Dye Sublimation?

Dye Sublimation is basically a way to get photo lab quality images on our Polyester fabric. It uses heat to transfer the dye onto materials such as plastic or fabric. Our printers transfer the image to the material, usually polyester, because the image is sharper.

Most importantly, why is Dye Sublimation better?

The advantages of dye sublimation are vast. The size of dye sublimation can vary vastly and can be used in so many different scenarios. It will not crack or fade away like screen printing and can hold up under different weather conditions without destroying the vivid colors. Dye Sublimation can hold a multitude of different images from vectors to logos which make it diverse. There is not a cap on resolution as well.

What product options to I have with Dye Sublimation?

Dye Sublimated fabric can be used for an array of products. The most popular products we produce are full image backdrops. These are popular for photo backdrops for themed parties and events. Full image back drops are also used for trade show displays. Showing your company products and services graphically is a lot more cost effective than shipping actual samples from trade show to trade show. You’ll save so much money that you can create a new marketing message for each event you attend. Another popular use is for step and repeat logos used for branding or photo backdrops. Placing logos on fabric is also used for fitted table covers and as table runners. The options are endless, you are only limited by your imagination!

What size can I print and what files do I need to send?

The dye sublimation machine can print up to 110” wide and then any length. We can also sew panels together if your project requires a wider design. For large images, the best file format to use is a vector file so it can be expanded to any size. We also accept JPEG and PDF but would ask for at least 300 dpi resolution. If you aren’t sure your file will work, we can check that for you and make recommendations. We also have a full in-house marketing department that can help with design at reasonable rates.

Is Dye Sublimation safe and reliable?

More than you can imagine! Dye Sublimation is fire retardant to California Standards and is also wrinkle resistant. The color is permanent on the fabric and will not fade away or crack like screen printing. The vivid colors are permanent and the fabric is much lighter than vinyl and a lot easier to transport. You can easily fold it and put it in a suitcase. The best part is that Dye Sublimated fabrics are washable and can be tossed in your home laundry system.

Dye Sublimation is a great way for businesses to use fabrics to really showcase what they are about. It’s an affordable and long lasting way to show off your business and have a product that will last for years to come. Contact our sales department today for great deals on Dye Sublimation.
