A Culture of Belonging: Georgia Expo’s Best Hiring Practices Lead to a Diverse Workforce

Creating a culture of acceptance is crucial in today’s workforce and embracing a diverse team is essential for sustainable success in today’s business landscape. Georgia Expo’s hiring philosophy has always been to hire the absolute best candidate for any role. We have found that all boxes “get checked” quite organically when the most experienced and most skilled candidates with the best personalities are selected. Recognizing and encouraging diversity within a company’s workforce and fostering a work environment that values shared information from all experiences and backgrounds is something Georgia Expo has been naturally doing for its more than 35 years in business.

Companies such as ours reap countless benefits through having a diverse team, from enhanced creativity and innovation to improved problem-solving and decision-making: the more ideas that are shared from multiple backgrounds and experiences, the greater the pool of ideas and solutions. Moreover, embracing differences of opinion enables us to tap into a broader customer base, unlocking new markets and driving our company’s growth.

Here at Georgia Expo, we are proud of our team and creating a culture that values and respects the differences among the members of our incredible organization.

Come and take a look at what makes our team so unique:

Age: The EOCD defines the working age in the U.S. as 15-64; as you can see, we have an amicable split of age sectors in our company

Gender: In the U.S., on average men typically fulfill 20% more positions than women, as you can see, we have a nice even mix of male versus female across the company; we also have women represented in executive and management positions throughout our organization

Ethnic: This is where we shine, our staff represent an extensive range of Ethnic backgrounds

Cultural/Language: While English is of course, our number one language being a U.S. manufacturer, we have over a fourth of our company that also speaks Spanish, another language, and the majority of our team is bi-lingual.

Retention: The average worker tenure in the U.S. is 4.1 years; over half our company has been with us for over four years with a whooping 16% over ten years

At Georgia Expo, we foster a culture of collaboration, respect, and belonging – this attracts top talent, improves employee engagement and retention, and ultimately drives our success.
