Introducing the 8′ Compact-Ship Upright
Our new 1.5″ x 8′ Compact-Ship Upright with CastleTop® provides the full 8′ working height of a traditional fixed upright but collapses to just 6′ for shipping, transportation and storage.
Once you’re ready to use it, simply extend the upright to 8′. A single button-stop locks it into its intended working height.

Is Compact-Ship an Adjustable Upright?
This is an important distinction: Compact-Ship is designed as an 8′ upright, not as a 6’–8′ adjustable upright.
Although the upright collapses to 6′, that position is intended for shipping, transportation and storage. For use, the upright extends to its full 8′ working height and locks into position with a single button-stop.
Customers looking for true adjustable-height pipe and drape should continue to choose from Georgia Expo’s telescoping upright options.
Traditional or Compact-Ship: Which 1.5″ Upright Is Right for You?
We’re not replacing our traditional 8′ fixed upright. There are good reasons to choose either design depending on your application.

Both are industry-standard 1.5″ diameter uprights with an 8′ working height.
The Traditional Upright remains a great choice when you want a one-piece design, need the additional 3′ drape support connection points, or aren’t concerned about parcel shipping length.
If you’re shipping 8′ uprights through UPS or FedEx, Compact-Ship gives you the same 8′ working height in a much shorter shipping length.
Compact-Ship Is Coming to Pipe & Drape Kits, Too
We’re also updating our 8′ Pipe & Drape Kits online to offer Compact-Ship Uprights as an option.
That means customers purchasing a complete 8′ system will be able to choose between the traditional one-piece upright and the more shipping-friendly Compact-Ship design based on how their equipment will be shipped, transported and used.
